Still-Life Gallery
My still-life work is inspired by natural and found objects, memories and the passing of time. These images are constructed on a flat plane, allowing me to position the objects precisely in relation to one another and to the edges of the frame. Once the image has been developed I print onto Kentmere Art Document paper, which acts like heavyweight watercolour paper, allowing me to work over the print with a variety of media, such as watercolours, coloured graphite and pastels, to create the finished piece. Handworking in this way makes each image unique. It is a slow process, building up layers of washes and dry colour to create the desired effect.
